Frequently Asked Questions
When will I receive my order?
Some of our items which are in stock will ship within 3-4 days of your order (possibly even quicker!). Other items are printed to order in-house and require an additional 3-4 days for production. If your order contains both ready-to-ship and made-to-order-in-house items, your order will ship when all items in your order are finished. Orders that are shipped from our shop ship from Pine Valley, CA. Some of our products are created by an outside printer, in order to take advantage of their complex multi-color printing abilities. The production time for most of these items is about 4 days. Products labeled "*Special order item" are not kept in stock by our suppliers, and require an additional 1-2 weeks of production time. Shipping times depend on location. In general, expect to allow at least 1 week for your custom order to arrive; special order items at least 2-3 weeks. If you have a special event or occasion coming up, plan ahead to allow enough time for production and shipping, or choose from out in-stock, ready-to-ship items for the quickest shipping times!
What size should I order?
Sizes vary between products, and for this reason, a chart with the garment measurements is provided in the product images. These are measured straight across the garment, laying flat. In general, the Unisex items will fit more like "Mens" or a regular t-shirt size. Ladies products are more fitted, so be sure to check the size charts. It's not unusual for the same woman to wear a Medium or Large in a Unisex shirt, but need an XL or 2XL for a Ladies shirt.
For children who wear a size 5 or 5T: our Toddler 5T and Youth XS shirts are similarly sized, with the 5T being slightly wider and the XS being slightly longer.
For our items which are printed to order, we are unfortunately not able to offer returns at this time based on size. For items that were in-stock in our shop, exchanges may be possible if your size is still available, however, you will have to cover the cost of shipping the item you wish to exchange back to us. If you have any sizing questions, please reach out to us at email@example.com prior to ordering and we will be happy to help!

Where are your products made? Where do your products ship from?
All our products are designed and printed in the USA. For apparel, our designs are printed on blank garments from well known and established garment companies. For all our products, the country of origin of the blank product varies. Many of our products are printed by hand, in-house, in Pine Valley, CA. For other items, we partner with printing companies here in the USA; most apparel will ship from either Ohio or Minnesota. All designs are created here at Mountain Thyme; many are completely original artwork.
What kind of quality can I expect?
We try very hard to select high quality blank items to print our designs on. For T-shirts, we use both "standard" T-shirts (like Hanes or Gildan) which are a bit heavier and boxier, as well as more "premium" T-shirts that are softer and more fitted--these differences are reflected in the price and the product description, and we try to offer both when it makes sense to do so. If you don't see the T-shirt style you want offered in the design you like, email us at email@example.com and let us know what you're looking for!
What printing method do you use for your apparel items?
Many of our products are screen-printed by hand in-house in Pine Valley, CA using water-based inks. The design is then heat-set to allow for maximum washibility and permanence. For those designs which require many colors, we partner with printers which use a Direct-To-Garment printer. Screen printing is somewhat more durable, but our current set up is limited to single-color printing. Direct-To-Garment printing allows for a high-quality print in many colors, without high set-up costs that would limit design availability.
Will my item look exactly like the product image?
Products which are produced in-house are represented by actual photographs of the product. Each item is hand printed, so very slight differences may occur, but the item you receive will be very similar to what is pictured (allowing for differences in screen colors, as well as garment size to the stencil). The images for items which are printed at an outside printer using a Direct-To-Garment printer are a digital representation of the product, with the design imposed over an actual photograph of a garment (this photo DOES show the garment that will be used). Small differences in color, ink transparency, size and placement may be apparent when you receive your order. If you have concerns, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org . We hope to begin adding pictures of the final printed products of these items as we are able.
Why does my shirt smell funny? Will the smell fade?
Garments printed with area Direct-To-Garment printer are given a vinegar rinse as part of the printing process. This helps set the ink. The smell is harmless, and will come out in the first wash. If you find the smell bothersome, we recommend washing your garment before wearing it.
